Here's a few thought I had when I was testing your site.
Bugs
I notice when I select a map it doesn't automatically zoom me to the bounds of all the geographical features in the selected map. This is very confusing as I could be looking in a completely different part of the country than where all the data is. There appears to be some intelligence on the Google Maps side. It seems to be able to map my IP address to a geographical locale and zoom the map to this location by default.
Create new mode for editing maps. I noticed when I create a map and say its finished, then I re-edit it later, everything I do in the map is visible during my re-editing process. I would like to make the map not available during this time. Maybe one could give the map a status of "in_progress" which does not make it available to anyone else until I have approved it by giving it a status of "publish". It may take several sittings to create a map and I dont want others to see it until its ready.
Enhancements
I would like to be able to link Photos/Documents/URLs to map features
Allow entry of point features using geocoding. Instead of entering a point using the drafting tool, I'd like to create a point just by typing in an address.
Can you generate a link/html code that I can paste on my own website ( E.G. MySpace? ) that will embed the map I created into the page? Right now I can copy the URL and paste the entire page somewhere else, but I'd like to just paste in a map.
Lastly this change management/defect tracking tool is good for corporate clients, but its going to intimidate the general public from using it. For the public I would hide all the ticket categories and just give the option to log a bug or enhancement.
I think you guys came up with a great idea.
Good luck,
-p
